I show love and respect for myself when I honor my need to have some time to myself, when I make time to pursue my hobbies and interests, and when I take steps to achieve my dreams and goals. I show that I value my needs when I make time to keep contact with friends and family members. When I set appropriate boundaries and refuse to be physically, verbally, or emotionally abused by others, I am practicing self-respect.
I am also are loving and respectful of myself when I stop my negative self-talk and become aware of the words and tone I used when I talk to myself.
When I respect myself, my attitude and expectations will be conveyed to other people in my life. This will affect the quality of my interactions.Only by respecting myself will I compel others to respect me.
My thoughts about this topic is that 'Respect is Earn and Not Given'. Therefore, if I want people to respect me, I have to respect myself first.
